Last night was pet photos with Santa at the local mall. We got dressed up and fought the wind, rain and traffic so we could have our first family photo with jolly one himself.
Basil loves places like malls and really any shop that allows dogs, so he was beyond excited. Not only did he get to see Santa but he also got to say “hello” to other dogs and a few adorable babies while in line. Once it was our turn Basil pulled me to Santa, he was ready to go. We adjusted our hair and Basil’s brand new Chilly Dog sweater and took a seat. After that is was just a few squeaks of a dog toy and clicks of the camera and we were done.
All the photos came out great and the one below was the chosen one! We hope you enjoy it as much as we do and if you are in the Carolina’s and still need your own photo with Santa make sure to check out Santa Max at the Carolina Place mall. Also, makes sure to head over to his Facebook and like him there as well!
Happy 15th day until Christmas!
Travel well, Nap well, Live well!

Ps. I will be sending these out as Christmas cards. If you would like one just leave a comment using your correct email and I’ll email you for an address. Or just email me at abbey@Basilstravels.com
Its Monday and instead of coming down with a serious case of the Mondays we decided to be ultra fancy today. Tonight Basil is getting all dressed up and we are getting our photo taken with Santa. So to get us all in the mood to dress in our “Sunday best” here is Sir Basil Boston-pants of Fancy-ville!
Sir Basil wishes everyone a fancy Monday and check back tomorrow for our Santa photos for more uber fancy fun!
Sunday is my favorite day of the week. It is so relaxing and its football day! So in the spirit of being a little lazy I thought I would share the only two photos that came out from our time in at The Dog Bar last night.
It was the ugly Christmas sweater party and pet food drive. Admission to this Saturday evening pet-fest was a bag of pet food to be donated to Second Harvest. Basil made a few new friends and had a great time running around like a mad man. We had a blast!
Today’s advent calendar post is to remind everyone that its holiday time and although things may be crazy in your life remember to be happy! I know its easy to let all the madness of packed out stores, traffic jams and your growing to-do list get you down but take one second and let the magic of this season put a smile on your face! It truly is a great time of year!

Hope everyones having a great morning! Happy Birthday to Basil Grandpa, Tim! Basil can not wait to jump on you and lick your face! Xoxo
Its December 6th and we just got Basil’s new Chilly Dog sweater in the mail. Its absolutely perfect and fits him like a dream. It has a cute little hood that keeps his puppy dog ears warm. Now all we need is a little bit of snow!
Currently in the Carolinas we have been experiencing some serious warm temps with the high being 75 degrees today! (Seriously?!) Basil and I are just hoping for some cooler days so he can show the world how cute he is in his new sweater. For now he will just get to look adorable in the house and on Monday when he gets to meet Santa. Check back everyday for your daily BT advent calendar picture and on Tuesday to find out how it went with Santa!
Basil has been asking for a lot of things this Christmas but when he heard about this he totally back tracked and told me this is what he truly wanted! This Basil’s favorite things is going to be a twofer, LeLePets & Good Day Dog.
LeLePets is an awesome Groupon-esk site but for dog products. They have short sales on anything from dog toys to beds to collars. Every day you get a new email about that days newest sales and the latest was about Good Day Dog.
Good Day Dog is similar to BarkBox in the fact that you sign up for a subscription and each month you pet gets a mystery box in the mail. With Good Day Dog instead of receiving a box filled with dog treats or plush toys they send a new hip dog collar.
For a dog like Basil this is perfect! He’s hip, stylish and gets a lot of attention when we are out and about. (Its because he may be one of the cutest dogs in the whole world…. in my personal opinion!) So he needs to look his best.
Not only do I love this idea but I adore their story. Joanna & her German Sheppard mix Zoey, turned their love for fashion and each other into a smashing business idea that I think we can all get behind.
Head over to LeLePets and sign up for the daily email deals and then check out the current deal, that ends on December 8th, on Good Day Dog 3 month subscription. Also, if you like my blog check out the GDD blog also for cute photos, silly stories and all things dog.
Hello! Christmas is fast approaching, like only 20 days away. That is pure madness! Stores are pretty much beyond hectic every single day now and the weather is truly getting frightful. Today’s advent calendar post features a silly Boston terrier dressed as an elf! So, don’t think about all the holiday shopping you still need to get done or how the days are still getting shorter. Just curl up with a eggnog latte (as I am currently enjoying) and look at just how much this poor Boston actually puts up with! Every time I dress him up, wrap lights around him or even just try to take a photo he just “bites the bullet” and lets me because he loves to be able to share his overload of cuteness with his fans.
On a side note, I feel like these eyes are screaming ” How many more of these do I have to pose for?” The answer is 20! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!
Happy Wednesday December 4th! According to the song on the 4th day of Christmas you got 4 calling birds but I thought a Boston in a moose sweater was a little cuter!
We are getting really excited for our Christmas in Texas and we still need more stuff to do on our road trip down there. Check out the post, Christmas in the Southwest , to see where we are going to be and make sure to send in recommendations for where you want to see Basil visit!
Its December 3rd and here in this house we have most all of our holiday shopping done, so that means its wrapping time! Basil was such a good sport during this photo shoot. After, we rewarded him with plenty of treats. He was such a good boy I almost forgot he got into the cat food last night! oO
I was planing on only posting a few photos but so many came out great, I thought I would share them all! Enjoy!
FYI, these bows are not meant to stick on dogs! If you want to take your own photos like these make sure to have a happy human helper as well as a patient dog. Treats will help too!
