Hello friends! Hope everyone is enjoying their Tuesday! We woke up this morning with a light dusting of snow and a very cold house. Because of this, Basil and I have been snuggled under our electric blanket watching our “stories” on YouTube.
It occurred to me that I spend a lot of my time on YouTube. A lot of my favorite shows are online only and it so easy to have on when I work. Also if you are sad or down there is so many great little “pick me ups” to rise your spirits. It really has a little bit of everything!
Today I thought I would share just a few dog related videos that always make me smile. Warning! Some of these videos contain adult language and silly adult behavior. If you have a strong opinion about either of those things or are a child, this post is not for you!

What are some of your favorite YouTube videos? Let me know!

Ps. We are in the process of get Basil’s Youtube up and running. There will be a ton of new videos up soon. Until then you can head over to youtube.com/basilstravels for a few short silly Boston terrier themed videos.
Where is this year going?! Thanksgiving is just a couple of days away and then its Christmas and before you know its 2015! We have been super busy getting ready for our upcoming Christmas trip to Texas as well as counting down the moments until Thanksgiving. On top of all of that its been really cold here! Basil has been wearing his Chilly Dog sweaters everyday for warmth but I started to worry about his little puppy paws. Last winter, when we got our Christmas tree and when we had our Valentine’s Day snow storm, Basil loved running around outside until his Boston terrier paw pads where so red mommy had to take him in.
We have talked about getting him some little dog booties in the past and even tried them on, with much resistance, but never committed to purchase. I felt now was the time, especially when we are traveling into the smoky mountains this weekend to chop down our 2014 Xmas tree.
Basil, Nate, and I took a trip to our local Petco in search of ridiculously cute boots for dogs. Oh, we found them! We decided on the Pup Crew Fall 2014 dark blue quilted zip dog shoes in size Large.
Basil is such a good sport and let me put these boots right on him in a flash, this time with little to no struggle.
Once his four paws hit the floor he was a little wary. As he “walked” around the house he looked more like a prancing pony or bow-legged crazy than my normal happy go lucky dog. It took a little getting use to. We even had him wear them outside on a walk to Nana & Papa’s house. After a few minutes of that same silly gate Basil seem to understand what was going on and started to walk normally. I think he actually realized that his paws were warm and dry while outside and he liked that.
If you are looking for some affordable dog booties for your pet we highly recommend the Petco Pup Crew shoes. They are soft, warm, cute, and most important stay on your dogs paws! They come in a lot of colors and have nice rubber soles. You can check them out here or at your local Petco.
Hope everyone is staying warm and safe. What are your plains for Thanksgiving and Christmas? Let us know in the comments below.

Happy Monday all! Hope everyone is surviving the heat that has been hitting the majority of the US. We have been trying to stay cool and relax in the comfort of our air conditioned home. This weekend we received Basil’s new collar and bow tie set from UsagiTeam. They are a great little pet supply company out of San Francisco that makes the cutest collars, bow ties, and matching leashes. Make sure to find and like them on Facebook and give them a follow over on the Twitter. Because this is a good look! Every American gentleman (or hipster worth their salt) needs at least one bow tie! Don’t you want to look this good?!
Thursday evening was a blast! Basil is still recovering from the huge amount of friends and fun that happened during this months historic southend dog crawl. Hosted by the fabulous Club Fetch and sponsored by The Canine Cafe and The Unknown Brewing Co. Charlotte area pet parents gathered at Club Fetch and then made our way a mile down the road to The Unknown Brewing Co. The Canine Cafe provided dog food samples, puppy treats, and even a dog friendly birthday cake to celebrate the birthday of The Unknown Brewing Co.’s brew dog, Patton. New friends were made, butts were sniffed, and a good time was had by all! Basil can’t wait until the next dog crawl!
Thank Dog its Friday! Thanks again to Blaire, Jackson, and Julia at Club Fetch for this amazing event. Also, thanks to The Canine Cafe for the treats and The Unknown Brewing Co. for letting us take over your brew house for a couple of hours! If you are in the Charlotte area, go check out all these local businesses. Shop small!
Today was Basil’s yearly vet check-up. He always loves seeing Dr. Sprinkles and all the friendly faces at the vet’s office.
He couldn’t wait to get in there!
Everything looked great from his eyes to his toes. The doc even told us that his teeth are perfect! (That makes one of us!) And thanks to The Honest Kitchen Basil even lost 2 lbs! Talk about one fit dog!
I can’t tell you how happy I am to get a clean bill of health for my little monster. He seemed pretty happy on the ride home too!
Hope everyone is having a great week so far! Happy Wednesday!
It was the one year anniversary of The Boston Terriers of Charlotte meet-up group and Blaire, the owner if Club Fetch in Charlotte, let a heard of wild and crazy Boston’s take over his club.
Happy 1 year to Boston terriers of Charlotte! We are so happy to be able to be part of it! Also, huge thank you Club Fetch, Blaire, Jackson, and staff for the amazingly good time!
Have a fun and safe Memorial Day weekend!

Its thirsty Thursday and to most human people that means going out and have a drink or two at your local watering hole because “Thursday is the new Friday!” Well, Basil is a hair under the legal drinking age; Oh, and is a dog! So I thought I would share some of our favorite, super chic, hipster dog food and water dishes currently available online.
Dig in! Dog bowl on Modcloth.com $17.99. A fun water or food dish for any breed of four legged friend!
Ore Pet Meilleur Ami Dog Bowl on Petfancy.com $10! Yes! Its only $10 for a super adorable ceramic dog dish that says “Best Friend” in french on it! Love!
Sleepypod Yummy Travel Bowl on Petswag.com $29.99. Sleepypod describes this bowl as, “The Sleepypod Yummy Travel Bowl is a modern and convenient three-in-one pet product that allows a pet owner to store, transport, and serve pet food and water simultaneously, without mixing or spillage of the contents.” So we are talking serving wet food, dry food, and water all at the same time without mixing. To me, thats magic! Also, comes is a lot of fun colors to match any dogs personality!
Then I could travel just by folding a map… No more airplanes, or speed trains, or freeways… There would be not distance that could hold us back – Death Cab for Cutie
TDIF! Thank dog its Friday! Well, we made it! Its finally Friday! After a busy week it feels pretty good to see the weekend right around the corner. I think what really pushed me forward this week is the thought of our upcoming trip to Las Vegas. Basil, Nate and I are getting pretty excited and trying to wrap up all our travel arrangements. For the last couple of weeks I have been doing some serious research regarding what the best “airline approved” pet carrier is. After reading like a hundred blogs and probably even more reviews, I decided on the SturdiBag. I ordered it with some pretty high hopes so, fingers crossed!
Not only have I found the right carrier for Basil but I also stumbled upon so many amazing pet products this week, its insane! Most were found from probably one of my favorite websites out there right now, Dog Milk.
If you aren’t familiar with Dog Milk, they are a blog type website that posts about anything and everything that a modern dog may need. I find myself on the Dog Milk web page everyday so yesterday when I noticed their Travel tab, I almost lost it! How have I never seen this before? Modern dog travel accessories?! Yes please!
Here are just a small amount of my new favorite, super hip dog products. I highly recommend you head over to Dog Milk yourself and find some of your favorites. Your dog will thank you!
