Historic South End Craft Beer Crawl

This last Saturday was the Charlotte south end craft beer crawl. 8 breweries and bottle shops hosted craft beer lovers and a boozehound or two for sampling and an all around good time. The crawl started at 11am at The Unknowing Brewing Co. and ending at 9pm at The Common market.

We hoped in at about 1pm and our first stop was The Beer Growler. A great little “growler spot with tasting privileges” (As overheard from one of the employees.) with a food truck outside, gyros! Yum! The place was small but comfortable and the staff for knowledgable and kind. Nate, Basil, and I were a little overwhelmed by the amount of choses and in the end just told the bartender what we liked and she put together a flight for us. We enjoyed out stout flight and made new friends.

Our next stop was Sycamore brewing company where we enjoyed more beer and more good conversation and people watching. Basil got a lot of attention and sat in a lot of new laps!

After that we hit up Lenny Boy, Good Bottle, and Triple C Brewing before calling it a day. We had so much fun. Drank a lot of good North Carolina beer and met a lot of like-minded, craft beer loving people.

Thanks Historic South End Charlotte for putting together this awesome dog friendly event. Also thanks to all the breweries and bottle shops for hosting and supporting North Carolina brews. It was a blast!

Our next trip is coming up fast. In a couple of weeks we will be in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania! We have a lot of fun stuff planed but would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions. Let me know!!

Hope everyone is having a great Saint Paddy’s day! Remember to drink responsibly and if you do drink please don’t drive… your pets need you!

Basil’s Favorite Things — Brunch!

Hello all! Happy Monday! Hope your weekend was fun and/or productive. Basil, Nate, the cats, and I spend this last couple days hanging out at home. My husband had a lot of work to do so it was laundry, snuggles, food, sleep, and repeat for Basil and I.

Family Photos!

Hello everyone! This summer has been a good one. Filled with love, laughter, and new adventures. We have been struggling with the heat and humidity here in North Carolina but because of that, I enjoy these stormy days all the more. Last week we had some professional family photos taken by the fabulous husband and wife team at Snow Dog Studios. Melissa & David showed us to a beautiful park in a gorgeous neighbor and took some truly amazing photos. Of course, Basil was the star of the show. When we got the photos back, very quickly I might add, all I wanted to order was every photo of Basil. As if I don’t have enough alright… geez!

Thanks again to Melissa & David for your time and skills! He had such a great time at the shoot and I think the photos show that.
If you are in the North Carolina area and need family, pet, wedding, engagement, or any other type of pictures make sure to contact Snow Dog Studios. You will not be sorry!

Hope everyones Monday is off to a good start! Just remember only 5 more days until the weekend! Xoxo

Basil discovers the joy of mud!

Happy Monday everyone! This Monday started with a smile. Mostly because we had such a causal, fun, relaxing weekend. Saturday was spent at my parents yard sale and just hanging out with family. Yesterday, Sunday, was a hot one! We decided that Basil needed a little dog park time and headed to our favorite local park. Although it was hot outside the large trees at the park gave us some much needed shade while Basil and his newly made friends ran around like crazy.
After a few buckets of drinking water got turned over a nice, new mud hole appeared. I’ve never seen Basil interested in mud. I mean this is a dog that walks out of his way to avoid a puddle but today was different story. Once he realized that mud was cool on his hot belly our little black and white dog turned into our little brown dog!
Check out these photos and the video of Basil’s first adventure in mud! I don’t know if I’ve ever seen my dog this happy!

Basil loves mud! Basil loves mud! Basil loves mud! Basil loves mud! Basil before mud!

Hope you aren’t having a case of the Mondays! If you are just watch this video a couple of times… it will help!

The ever growing bow tie collection continues…

Happy Monday all! Hope everyone is surviving the heat that has been hitting the majority of the US. We have been trying to stay cool and relax in the comfort of our air conditioned home. This weekend we received Basil’s new collar and bow tie set from UsagiTeam. They are a great little pet supply company out of San Francisco that makes the cutest collars, bow ties, and matching leashes. Make sure to find and like them on Facebook and give them a follow over on the Twitter. Because this is a good look! Basil loves UsagiTeam! Basil loves UsagiTeam!Every American gentleman (or hipster worth their salt) needs at least one bow tie! Don’t you want to look this good?!
