Happy throwback Thursday! On this TBT we wanted to remember an old friend that we lost almost two years ago. He came to our home as an 11 year old foster in pretty bad shape. Severely over weight, very smelly and with an awful name, No No Bad Dog!! Well, after a few puppy baths and a healthy meal we decided that he could’t go on with the rest of his life with such a rude name. We tried a few names that started with the letter N but nothing seemed to stick. I don’t remember who thought of the name Nolan but the moment it was said out loud he knew and we knew, that was it!
No No Nolan was the original traveling Boston terrier. Despite his advanced age he was a trooper. Once he lost a bit of weight he was walking to the farmers market in Ballard, WA every Sunday. He was hiking with us in Leavenworth, shopping in Portland and picnicking with us anywhere and everywhere. Nolan had a heart of gold and loved everyone! Even though Basil never got to meet his amazing older brother I just know they would have been the best of friends.
We lost Nolan very suddenly at the age of 12 the day before Thanksgiving 2011. I miss him everyday and I have never again met a dog with the same personality.
No No Nolan was proof that when you are looking for a new pet, giving an older dog a chance can really be an amazing thing.
