Happy Saturday friends! Today marks the 2 year anniversary of Basil’s Travels! We couldn’t be happier from all the love and support you have given us these last couple years. We have gone on so many adventures and can’t wait for all the ones to come.

This last weekend Basil, Nate, Jake, Sara, Luna, and I went up the San Juan Island to visit my grandmother and enjoy island life. Weather was fantastic and the dogs had an amazing time.
San Juan island is located about 2 hours northwest of Seattle in the San Juan islands. Only accessible by ferry, private boat, or small plane. Enjoy shopping in Friday Harbor and the best seafood around in Roche Harbor. Beautiful beaches, whale watching, and history fill this small island with plenty to see and do. Basil, Luna, my sister-in-law Sara, and I headed to the dog park yesterday for some play time and a swim in the lake. Luna (Sara’s black lab mix) is a grade A water dog. The moment she spotted the beach she was off!
Basil isn’t that much of a swimmer. He just likes to dip his paws in the water and play with other dogs on the beach. Recently we got him a life jacket. The thought was that maybe if he felt a little more comfortable in the water he would want to swim with us. Well, it worked! It only took a few times in the water and Basil became swimmer dog.

Its another Travel Tuesday and I know I said I was going to do San Antonio, Texas but I changed my mind. I’m so excited to get back to the beautiful city of Seattle I thought I would do part 1 of probably many Seattle, Washington dog friendly destinations! These are only a few of the great spots in Seattle, it really is an amazingly dog friendly place. In this house we are huge Seattle Seahawks fans! You may have realized that if you have been to this blog before, or visited our Instagram or Twitter acounts. Its in our blood; every member of this family bleeds blue & green! So that means we have two (vert fat) 12th cats and the hardest rooting 12th dog in the game!
That being said, all of us are very excited that come this Sunday we get to watch our beloved Hawks in their 2nd Superbowl in 2 years! #rePete So much that we have been getting ready ourselves. 
Basil has been sporting his 12th dog gear every waking moment in anticipation. I also threw the referee jersey on Sebastian in hopes that maybe that will give us some better luck with the refs this weekend. (You never know! It’s only crazy if it doesn’t work!) 
So this Sunday we will be yelling and screaming for our Seattle Seahawks and hoping for them to come home with the W. Lets all hope for a clean, fair football game and let the best team win! 
In closing I’ll leave you with the famous words of Bill Nye, Rainn Wilson, Chris Pratt, Macklemore, and Katy Perry… “GO HAWKS!”
