I know its been years and so much as happened but Basil’s Travels hasn’t stopped. For those of you who have been following us on Instagram, you have seen this little gentleman turn grey and never stop smiling. From here we are going to continue this crazy journey and share our life and experiences in this dog-friendly world. Look out for tips and tricks for traveling with your dog, hipster dog locations we recommend, and like 1-million (or like 12, who knows?) dog Halloween costumes.
We love you guys, old and new.
Welcome to the *new and improved* Basil’s Travels!
Hey internet friends! Its been a while! How are you? How has your summer been going? Been anywhere fun? Basil and I have been super busy working on relaunching this blog (good stuff coming soon) and going on all sorts of wacky adventures.
Todays post we are going to dive into the brain of a Boston terrier. Don’t worry you won’t have the sudden urge to pee on everything and hump every warm body, unless thats your life and then, by all means, do you boo! No, we are going to count down the 10 best dog friendly cities in the United States of America – A Boston terriers opinion!
#10 San Antonio, Texas
Southern hospitality + good food + pet friendly hotels = Happy puppy!
#9 Bend, Oregon
Outdoor loves dream! Beer for you, 1 billion trees to pee on for your dog!
#8 Charlotte, North Carolina
An up and coming city growing faster than that 8 week old great dane puppy at the pet store.
#7 Austin, Texas
Great music, BBQ, and hipsters as far as the eye can see… So, pretty much heaven!
#6 Leavenworth, Washington
Modern mountain town meets Bavarian village. Grab a brat and a beer and then hit the river!
#5 Portland, Oregon
I don’t have anything clever to say here. Seriously, just go!
#4 Friday Harbor, Washington (San Juan Island)
Feels like its a world away but only a few hours from Seattle or Vancouver. Do some shopping downtown, every shop has dog treats, and relax on the beach.
#3 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
The birthplace of this country and home to some amazing pet friendly hotels!
#2 Asheville, North Carolina
I can’t say enough good things about this “sleepy” mountain town. Beautiful, fun, and not what you are expecting. If you get the chance to go please do. Do it for us! DO IT!
#1 Seattle, Washington
What can I say? I am totally biased! We love this amazing city and you (and your dog) will too!
So, now that we have told you where we like to visit how about you tell us where some of your favorite places are. Where should we travel next?
Like I said up top we are working on a relaunch of Basil’s Travels so keep an eye out for some new amazing content soon. Also, make sure you are following us on Instagram, http://www.instagram.com/basilstravels for daily cuteness and the dog friendly information.
Hello to all our internet friends! How was your November? Ours was busy, and stressful and we just needed a little break; but we are back now!
Today is the 1st day of 25 days of Blogmas. If you are new to my blog that is where I post everyday until Christmas. We have done it that last 2 years and really enjoyed it. So here we go again!
For today enjoy our 2015 photo with Santa. We all wore our “ugly” Christmas sweaters and the pictures are adorable.
Classic! I pretty sure my husband wins at best “ugly” sweater. A t-rex wearing an ugly Christmas sweater ON your sweater? Magic!
Has your dog/cat/kid/dolphin met santa yet? Let me know I would love to see photos!
Thank you everyone who voted for Basil’s 2015 costume. It’s adorable, soft, and just perfect for Basil. I hope everyone is having a great Halloween. Have fun tonight and be safe! Xoxo
Hey Friends! For today’s Travel Tuesday post check out the super dog friendly city of Seattle. Forget about the rain (It really doesn’t rain that much… sometimes) and pack your dog and your bags, Seattle is calling!
Where should we go next? Let us know in the comments! We’re making out plans for 2016 trips and would love to hear your advice.
P.s Voting is not closed for Basil’s 2015 Halloween costume. The votes have been counted and we do have a winner, but we aren’t telling! Make sure to check back daily and on Halloween to see what won.
Fall is our favorite season. We just love the cooler weather, pumpkins, and all the adorable outfits! Todays OOTD not only celebrates Fall but The Peanuts and the Great Pumpkin.
Are you ready for Halloween? Don’t forget to continue to vote for Basil’s 2015 Halloween costume. Only 7 more days! See the options here and don’t forget to make your vote!
Today is Monday night football and our beloved Seattle Seahawks are going head to head with the Detroit Lions! Basil is prepare to referee the game in case the official refs call out. You just need to know that he may not be 100% unbiased. Let the best team win… GO HAWKS!
“Ruferee” Jersey T-shirt Target $7 | Flag dog toy Target $4 | Seattle Seahawks dog collar, Handmade. Similar found on Etsy.com $15 |
Tuxedo Kitten, similar found at your local shelter. Check out aspca.org Priceless!
As you see Sebastian had to be involved in the shoot. I told him if he keeps doing that I’m going to start dressing him up everyday too. I don’t know if he is happy about that!
Yay it’s Friday! We decided to go on a little afternoon bike ride on this unusually hot September day; it’s 84 in Seattle… That’s madness!
We used our “new” (yard sale find!!) bike trailer, strapped Basil in like he was a 5 year old human child and we were off.
The ride wasn’t very long because of the heat but we still had an awesome time. I can’t wait until it’s actually fall here so we can use this sweet ride more often. Check out the video I shot and also my ridiculous bike selfie!
Thanks YouTuber Jenna Marbles for this idea. We are having a ton of fun with it!
Yesterday Basil got to meet and play with our friends new 4 month old mini Aussie puppy. Athena is a tiny, deaf, super fluffy pup who has no fear! She jumped right in to wrestle with Basil and every other larger dog that came her way.
As well as getting to play with Athena, Basil found a few other Boston friends.
All and all it was a successful trip to the dog park. Thanks Farrah for sharing your new fluffiness with us. I think Basil & Athena will be life long friends!
Its been a pretty good Blogiversary weekend. Today is time for relaxing and doing some planning for up coming travel plans. I hope your weekend is going well! Until next time!
