As you see Sebastian had to be involved in the shoot. I told him if he keeps doing that I’m going to start dressing him up everyday too. I don’t know if he is happy about that!
Happy wordless (wordy, whatever!) Wednesday guys! Hope everyone had an amazing unofficial last weekend of summer. We were pretty lazy! Basil, Willow, Sebastian, Nate, and myself spent the weekend relaxing and getting settled into our new house. Now that the work week is in full swing its been hard not to be our lazy weekend selves.
This morning I was able to catch something on video that has eluded me. No, its not the Loch ness monster or big foot, even though you would think it was with how hard its been to capture it. It’s a video of Basil and Sebastian playing under our coffee table!
Usually they start playing and I reach for the camera but the second I point it in their direction all movement stops. You would think these two were professional mimes or something!
That didn’t happen today! Enjoy this video because I don’t know when I’ll be able to get another one!
Coming at the end of the week is our FreshPet Vital Raw review and a few photos of Basil’s new “dog cave” in the new house. Make sure to check back for those!
Do you have cats & dogs? Do they love to play with each other?
Our life as of late is boxes, bubble wrap, and tape. In a few short weeks we are moving back out west and man it’s a ton of work! I’ve done this move now going on 4 times so you would think I’d have it down, but no! I don’t know if the pets know for sure what’s happen yet but they will know very soon.
Because of this craziness the blog may be a little slow in the next coming weeks. I’ll be working hard to keep posts coming but it probably won’t be everyday. To keep up with us make sure to follow us on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook at @basilstravels
Also, to get email updates on every Basil’s Travels post head over to Bloglovin’ and follow us there!
Hope everyone is having a great week. What are your plans for Memorial Day weekend? I’d love to know! Until next time! Xoxo
Well, thanksgiving is done and over and Christmas is now everywhere. We got our tree a couple of weeks ago but it’s just now that the harvest decor is coming down and it’s really starting to feel like Christmas.
Since getting our tree all of our local friends have been asking us where we got it and I’m happy to share.
Our beautiful 8 foot tall Fraser fir came from a little family farm in the Smoky Mountains called Little Switzerland Fraser Firs. About an hour and a half from our home outside Charlotte, high in the mountains sits a dog friendly, family friendly slice of Christmas tree utopia.
Little Switzerland Fraser Firs has hundreds of beautiful Fraser fir Christmas trees to chose from. From tall to small you really can’t go wrong. This is our 2nd year cutting down a tree from there and as long as we are in North Carolina, it is the only place we’ll go.
As you can see we really had a great time. Basil even made two new friends, a horse and another Boston terrier!
If you are in the area and still in the need of a Christmas tree make sure to check out Little Switzerland Fraser Firs.
What does your Christmas tree look like? Send us photos and I’ll post them here! Hope everyone is surviving the week and the weather!
Travel well, nap well, live well!
Abbey & Basil
PS… As I’m posting this I had to stop Willow (our 20 lb. cat!) from drinking our of the Christmas tree stand, TWICE!
Sometimes I walk into my living room and everything is normal. Sometimes I walk into my living room and its cuteness overload! Sebastian decided he wanted to snuggle with his brother and Basil was not complaining! They were even so comfortable they let me move the arm chair they were cuddled on, to get better lighting, of course. I’m so glad I was able to capture this moment on camera. I think this gives me an amazing Halloween 2014 costume idea. Yes… Yes… Everything is coming together!
Brotherly love at its finest! The black & whites return!
Happy Thursday everyone! Its been super stormy all day today so everyone has been staying in the house and trying to stay dry. We have a full house this week. Jack the golden retriever is staying with us and he is a little bit of a baby. (He is scared of thunder!) He has been hiding behind a trash can in our office for the majority of the day. Luckily enough it stopped raining right around our usual puppy walk time. We headed out for a wet two dog walk.
Many more photos of these two best friends coming later this week. Also, a new Basil’s Favorite Things tomorrow. Hope its sunny where you are!
Yesterday we were having lunch and the coolest dog and his owner sat down next to us. Introducing Duke, the 250 LB English mastiff. He is such a sweetie and obviously draws a lot of attention. Basil loved him and wanted play the whole time. So, say hello to Duke!
In our house we have a pair of best friends, Basil and Sebastian. Sea-bass, as we like to call him, is our 3 year old kitten. He and Basil decided to be BFF’s when they both realized that they share the same color palette. So I decided to give them a joint nick-name, The Black & Whites!
I mean this duo could be buddy cops, an up and coming boy band, or just the new odd couple. Really I should start shooting a t.v pilot! This really is cuteness overload to the max. I’ll try to get more photos of them cuddling up so you can also enjoy this critical mass of cute! For right now enjoy this one… It could be their new album art! xoxo
